Your Role as Group Controller
For the next phase of our growth, we are seeking a Group Controller who will act as a financial sparring partner for our business units and help shape the financial course of the group. In this role, you will work closely with the CFO of VS Global and report directly to him. Your base will be in Rotterdam, with regular work on-site at our business units, including Schaften Cranes, where you will also support the financial director.

What Will You Do?

  • Optimize financial (control) processes across the entire organization and assess their effectiveness and efficiency.

  • Ensure compliance with laws and regulations within the group, both domestically and internationally, and safeguard compliance within financial processes.

  • Responsible for a solid and reliable setup of administrations and fiscal processes, including internationally.

  • Prepare monthly and annual reports and monitor liquidity position at group level.

  • Challenge business units on their financial reporting and justifications.

  • Translate financial data into strategic, commercial, and policy advice.

  • Translate strategic goals into KPIs, monitor them, and advise on adjustments to activities.

  • Coordinate the annual budget cycle alongside the CFO.

  • Perform operational control tasks at Schaften Cranes.

  • Actively pursue synergy opportunities within the group.

  • Participate in or lead multidisciplinary project teams focusing on investments and process optimization.

  • Co-responsibility for ICT within the group.

What Do You Bring?

  • A completed university degree (WO) in accountancy or business economics; a (theoretical) completion of RA or RC education is a plus.

  • Minimum of 5 to 10 years of work experience in finance, preferably within complex, international organizations or in accountancy.

  • Strong analytical skills and a high sense of responsibility.

  • Flexibility, team orientation, and a proactive work attitude.

  • Excellent command of both Dutch and English.

  • Willingness to work from various locations in the Rotterdam region.

Jouw rol als Groepscontroller

Voor de volgende fase in onze groei zoeken wij een Groepscontroller die als financiële sparringpartner optreedt voor onze business units en mede richting geeft aan de financiële koers van de groep. In deze functie werk je nauw samen met de CFO van VS Global en rapporteer je direct aan hem.

Je standplaats is Rotterdam. Daarnaast werk je regelmatig op locatie bij onze business units, waaronder Schaften Cranes, waar je ook die financial director ondersteund.

Wat ga je doen?

  • Je optimaliseert de financiële (controle)processen binnen de hele organisatie en toetst deze op effectiviteit en efficiency;
  • Je draagt zorg voor naleving van wet- en regelgeving binnen de groep in binnen- en buitenland en borgt de compliance binnen de financiële processen.
  • Je bent verantwoordelijk voor een solide en betrouwbare inrichting van de administraties en fiscale processen, ook in het buitenland;
  • Je stelt de maand- en jaarrapportages op en bewaakt de liquiditeitspositie op groepsniveau;
  • Je daagt de business units uit op hun financiële rapportages en onderbouwing;
  • Je vertaalt financiële data naar strategische, commerciële en beleidsmatige adviezen;
  • Je vertaalt strategische doelen naar KPI’s, je monitort deze  en adviseert over bijsturing van de activiteiten;
  • Je coördineert samen met de CFO de jaarlijkse begrotingscyclus;
  • Je voert operationele controllingtaken uit bij Schaften Cranes;
  • Je jaagt actief synergiemogelijkheden binnen de groep aan;
  • Je neemt deel aan of leidt multidisciplinaire projectteams rondom investeringen en procesoptimalisatie.
  • Je bent binnen de groep mede verantwoordelijk voor ICT;

Wat breng je mee?

  • Een afgeronde wo-opleiding in accountancy of bedrijfseconomie; een (theoretisch) afgeronde RA-opleiding of RC- opleiding is een plus;
  • Minimaal 5 tot 10 jaar werkervaring in finance, bij voorkeur binnen complexe, internationale organisaties of in de accountancy;
  • Sterke analytische vaardigheden en een hoog verantwoordelijkheidsgevoel;
  • Flexibiliteit, teamgerichtheid en een proactieve werkhouding;
  • Uitstekende beheersing van zowel de Nederlandse als de Engelse taal;
  • Je bent bereid vanuit verschillende locaties in de regio Rotterdam te werken.
